Richard S. Machtinger has over 26 years of experience in the banking industry.  Mr. Machtinger was a Relationship Manager with Garden State Bank in Ocean County, which was acquired by Summit Bancorp.  During his nine year tenure, he was responsible for loan origination, portfolio management and business development throughout Ocean, Monmouth and Atlantic Counties.

In 2000, Mr. Machtinger joined Independence Community Bank where he served as First Vice President and Manager of the Real Estate Support Group.  This group was responsible for managing all aspects of the Bank’s construction loan activity as well as the Appraisal and Environmental functions.  In 2006, Sovereign Bank acquired Independence Community Bank where Mr. Machtinger served as Senior Credit Risk Officer for the National Commercial Real Estate Lending Division.

Mr. Machtinger received his BA degree from Rutgers University and served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1981.  Mr. Machtinger resides in Brick, New Jersey.
